Simple Stamping

Fun with Ribbon Stamping

Have you ever tried stamping on ribbon? It’s an easy and fun way to personalize ribbon for gift boxes, cards, bags etc. I stamped on both the Natural finish Ribbon and the Balmy Blue & White Variegated Ribbon for my gift boxes.

To create the box bottom, I cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock at 7″ x 7″, score on all four sides at 1-1/4″. Cut slits for the tabs. I added a few small pieces of Tear & Tape on each tab, then folded them to create the corners.

For the box top, I used a piece of By the Bay 6″ x6″ DSP, scored on all four sides at 3/4″. Again I cut the slits for the tabs. I added a few small pieces of Tear & Tape on each tab, then folded them to create the corners.

Next, I stamped hearts with the Country Bouquet Stamp set in Night of Navy directly on the Balmy Blue & White Variegated Ribbon. To keep the ink from smearing, leave the ribbon to try, I let this ribbon sit for about a half hour. You’ll want to wait longer for a heavier ribbon like the Natural Finish Ribbon that I used on a second box. Once dry I tied the ribbon on the box.

The tag is made with Tailor Made Tags Dies. I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy then, die cut the bird from the By the Bay DSP with the Seaside Bay Dies and adhered to the tag. To finish the tag I added a few Flat Pearls and tied it to the bow with White Bakers Twine.

I created this second box with the Country Bouquet Collection Suite.

Gift Box Measurements

  • Box Base: 7″ x 7″, score on all 4 sides at 1-1/4″
  • Box Top: 6″ x 6″, score on all 4 sides at 3/4″

This month my Customer Thank You cards feature the Sweetest Cherries Bundle. It’s a fun bundle to create with, and add in the Full basket dies for more fun!

I started with a piece of Parakeet Party cardstock and using Parakeet Party ink stamped the leaf image from the Sweetest Cherries bundle. Then, adhered it to a piece of Basic White cardstock and then added it to the Starry Sky cardbase.

I punched the cherries in Sweet Sorbet cardstock, and the stems in Early Espresso cardstock. The leaves are punched with Parakeet Party cardstock, then I stamped the leaf pattern in Parakeet Party and set them all aside.

Using the Full Basket dies, I die cut the basket in Crumb Cake cardstock and the cloth triangle in Basic White cardstock. I used Mini Glue dots to adhere the cloth triangle to the basket. Before adhering the basket to the card, I placed it where I wanted it to be on the card and used the Mini Glue Dots to add the cherries. leaves and stems. Then I added Mini Glue Dots to the basket to adhere it to the card.

I added an Adhesive Sheet on a scrap of Basic White and Starry Sky cardstock, then die cut the “Thanks” with the Amazing Thanks Dies. Adhesive Sheets make it was easy to add the Starry Sky “Thanks” the basic White base and then to card.

If you haven’t tried Adhesive Sheets I highly recommend them for die cutting especially intricate dies. It’s so much easier to add them to your project when you don’t have to try to put glue on the back to adhere them.

On the inside of card I stamped a cherry, leaf and stem.

I created a second card in Tahitian Tide with the “Thanks” at the bottom of the card, I couldn’t decide which way I liked it better, what do you think?

As mentioned at the top, this is a blog hop so make sure you ‘hop’ around to all the amazing projects on this hop! Click on the links below to visit them.

I Enjoy Every Chapter of Our Friendship

The book & tea lover in me immediately added the Every Chapter Cling Stamp to my Jan-June 2022 Mini Catalog must have shopping list. There are so many possibilities for coloring in this great stamp. I chose to color the image for this card with Watercolor Pencils.

I wanted my card to have lots of bright color so I picked this pretty heart pattern from the Pattern Party DSP that is available as a host reward in the Annual Catalog. I love how it looks on the Granny Apple Green card base.

I wanted to add some dimension to the book images when adding them to my card so I snipped them apart after I colored them.

To add the book pieces to my card, I put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the end of the images with the pages, and a Mini Glue Dot on the other end. This allowed them to be a bit popped up on my card front as if they were actually stacked at an angle. I used Mini Glue Dots to adhere the cup and glasses to top of the stack. I brushed the glasses with a Wink of Stella to give them a shimmery look.
