How Do You Kit?

I love to craft with a kit! Stampin’ Up!’s Kits Collection provides an amazing variety of craft kits to choose from. There are Stamping Kits that each come with an exclusive photopolymer Stamp Set, clear block, and a Stampin’ Spot. there are also Non-Stamping kits which don’t require any stamping to create. Each kit comes with everything to need to create the projects, including adhesive! What could be easier?

So why do I love to craft with a kit? I love that I can create the projects in the kit as they were designed or I can make them my own, by adding elements, removing elements or I can use the elements in the kit to make something completely different. The possibilities are endless! Let me show you an example of what I mean, with the Birthday Card Organizer Kit.

This kit includes a Yearly Birthday Planner, and everything you need to create 12 cards, 6 each of 2 designs with coordinating envelopes! There are stickers for decorating the organizer and pretty embellishments for the cards as well as adhesive to complete all the project.

When I’m crafting with a kit I like to make one of each project as designed, then create the rest later. I might create them as designed or change them. With the Birthday Organizer KIt, I dressed up my organizer by stamping the months and die cutting them rather than using the stickers. I also lightly stamped some flower images on the pages to add some additional decoration.

I created one of each of the cards as designed in the kit. Then saved the remaining elements to use them later.

I wanted to use this kit to create some cards for the Luv 2 Stamp Group RAK cards for February using the Crafting With You stamp set. I took one of each card base and cut them in half to use on my card. I used the Stylish Shapes Dies to die cut a circle from the Soft Succulent card piece, and the labels for the sentiments.

I created the polka-dot card front as designed. I added them to Basic White card base.

I layered the image of the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine on the Soft Succulent circle, then added them to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well. To finish my cards I added a few of the embellishments from the kit.
